The Route

Out Spoken for 4-H ridersThe Outspoken for 4-H bike route takes riders from West Virginia's Potomac Highlands to the Mountain Lakes region, with riders beginning their trip at the Jefferson County Extension Office in Kearneysville and ending in Weston at WVU Jackson's Mill.

 

 

Day 1 – June 12

Bardane, W.Va., to Berkeley Springs, W.Va. (Approximately 51.6 miles)
Riders cross North Mountain and Sleepy Creek/Short Mountains.

Day 2 – June 13

Berkeley Springs, W.Va., to Cabins, W.Va. (Approximately 99.6 miles)
Riders cross Cacapon Mountain, Bare Ridge, Sideling Hill, Spring Gap Mountain, and Saw Mill Ridge (part of South Branch Mountain).

Day 2 - Detailed Route


Day 3 – June 14

Cabins, W.Va., to Elkins, W.Va. (Approximately 53.5 miles)
Riders cross Skidmore Mountain, Fore Knobs, Rich Mountain, Allegheny Mountain, parts of North Fork Mountain, Middle Mountain, Shavers Mountain, Cheat Mountain, Spruce Mountain.

Crossing the finish line at WVU Jackson's MillDay 4 – June 15

Elkins, W.Va., to Jackson’s Mill State 4-H Camp. (Approximately 43.9 miles)
Riders cross Purgatory Hill, Laurel Mountain
