The WVU Extension Service Families & Health organization is here to give advice on the important issues confronting everyone’s lives. Caregivers face some of the hardest situations.

care givers “Caregivers are the invisible workforce that’s underpinning the healthcare system by managing the care of chronically ill individuals in home-based settings,” said Robin Straight, social worker and the West Virginia representative for National Family Caregivers. “They are under tremendous stress and often feel that their needs are misunderstood. Caring for You – The Caregiver – At one time or another, we all have given care to
someone. Perhaps we took care of a sick child, a spouse, or another family member. This might have been while they were getting over something like chicken pox for a child, or a cold, flu, or even surgery for an adult. (Read more…PDF)
