Save the Date: August 12-21, 2016
Join your fellow Mountaineers in showcasing WVU’s programs during the 2016 West Virginia State Fair in Fairlea.
Many units use the fair as a time to connect with alumni, recruit potential students, and engage one of the University’s largest outreach opportunities.

For decades, the West Virginia State Fair has been a long-standing tradition and fun-filled event for countless West Virginians. Through engaging exhibits and fun-filled activities, fair-goers can “picture themselves” at West Virginia University.
This year, there are numerous opportunities to “try on multiple hats.”
Take part in photo shoots as a member of the WVU Marching Band, the Pride of West Virginia, in the “put yourself in the pride” exhibit, or test your knowledge of 4-H topics by playing “Label Mabel” or learning healthy eating habits.
Join more than 150 WVU faculty, students, staff and volunteers at the fair during the ten-day event.
Stop by the WVU Building, where the University will showcase several of its colleges and program offerings in the areas of engineering, health sciences, agriculture, business and many more.
Check out new programs WVU offers and participate in interactive exhibits like STEM—science, technology, engineering and math—that offer unique activities taking place everyday under the instruction of WVU’s STEM Ambassadors.
An exhibit from WVU Extension that will be returning from last year offers fair-goers the chance to learn from master gardeners, agricultural and environmental specialists, as well as many other Extension professionals.
The West Virginia Mountaineer, will be at the fair during the opening weekend as well as for Governor’s Day, giving visitors the opportunity to meet, greet and take photos.
